anyone thought about giving Linux a try again recently? I actually installed another HDD that i had and put the latetest Ubuntu 64bit OS on there, and besides having to purchase Cedega to play my games, its the best decision i ever made. I still have windows installed on my raptor drive due to the ease of playing my games. Its a lot easier to use than it used to be and im glad i am making the switch.

How did your install go? Been thinking about doing the same, got a extra 300 g drive collecting dust in my case. My problem is I'm down to Vista 32 off the Intel RAID0, and XP 64 on a SATA. Kinda worried about driver issues, boot mgr etc.

actually, it went smooth as silk. It had all of the drivers i needed already installed, AND i can read my NTFS file systems and write to them too.

I use Ubuntu in a virtual machine on XP 32bit (Innotek VirtualBox). I may load it on an aging PC to revive its life. I am actually considering the Beta 3 for LinuxMCE. A few more hours before the ISO is downloaded.
I also use a Ubuntu Server dedicated.

Maybe I'll try that. I have VMware, and my rig has 8 gig's of memory, I could load it thru XP 64. Interesting. Sounds like a weekend project.

ubuntu has a live cd, so you don't need to actually do an install. VMWare isn't a bad idea either.

Ubuntu come with the option to install VM ware, and you could do a VM of XP or vista or anything.

Been using Ubuntu sense Feisty Fawn 7.04 was released and am now using Ubuntu Gutsy 7.10 Have this setup as duel boot with XP and have even been able to clone this whole drive with TrueImage 9.
This has come a long way recently and installation is easy. Most all hardware drivers are already installed and proprietary/restricted drivers are much more supported in the new distros. Probably the most troublesome hardware is wireless notebook cards.
Have an extra drive sitting unused that I will be loading PCLinuxOS on tonight and try a triple boot. I used PCLinux for a month or so but went back to Ubuntu as it is easier for a noob to learn on IMO.
All I know for sure is that I'll be wholly using Linux before I use Vista. Wife has Vista on lappy and I don't like it.
