I'm upgrading my system in a few weeks and I'm not sure what graphics card I need. I keep up to date with the latest and greatest and although I'd love an 8800 GT it simply isn't necessary for what I do. I run Vista and watch HD avi files, and that's about all I'll need it for.

I've got an ATI X800 Pro at the moment and it can't play HD movies very well, so I'm not sure if its something that's only suppored in the latest generation of cards or whether I'll need something beefier.

Trying to save money on this so I can buy a faster CPU, presumably that's what'll benefit me the most.

Can anyone recommend something that'll suit?

Go with the 8800 GT, they are nice in performance and not overpriced.

Thanks but as I said that's way more than I need. I'm thinking of something under £50...

Maybe a 7600Gt, but I don't know how it would be with HD. Go to www.avsforum.com. They may be able to help you.

Thanks, I bought an ATI 2400 Pro in the end and it works fine :)
