I have a Voodoo3 3000 AGP on a pentium 3 450
custom built computer..
My friend was having a video card problem so i threw his card in my computer, tested it, (it worked fine) then replaced my voodoo to the agp port and tried to boot up.
My moniter stayed in 'standby mode' and displayed no characters on the screen. Also the post bios beeps are one long and then two short beeps, meaning a video failure..
i have not altered my system in any way and am worried that i may have ruined the video cards bios, are there any ways to check for this?
any information would be greatly appreciated.

Have you taken the card out and put it back in firmly? Soundsl ike it's not seated good. Thats best case scenario. What did you do with the card while it was out of your computer? It should have at least been set on an anti-static bag, if not put inside one. First, take out the card, press it back in firmly. See if that works. Next, get the friends card back and see if it works in there. If his card doesnt work in there, the AGP slot has got some foreign object in it, or the slot may have blown.

Thanks for the tip Nixona,
I tried reseating the video card, but no changes occured.. then i tried another card i have and got a screen back, with an error message:

Award BootBlock BIOS 1.0
BIOS ROM checksum error

Is this a motherboard, CMOS, or video rom error? and what can I do to resolve this?
