I'm working on my wife's friend's Dell Dimension 2400 Tower, and the Back Panel (I/O Plate, what is the right term for this thing?) BULGES OUT where the Video Connector is.
It looked like hell, so I removed the MB, removed the Plate, inspected everything, replaced everything, and it still bulged. (To be perfectly honest, at first I tried PUSHING the Plate into the computer to flatten it out. I broke the Video Connector, and had to cobble one from an old ISA Video Card, and solder it into the Motherboard. That was fun. NOT.)
So my question is: Did Dell screw up on the dimensional interface here ? Maybe they punched some holes in the Tower Chassis a little too close to the back of the computer. I've worked on many computers and never saw this before.
Has anyone else noticed this problem with Dell Dimension Towers ? Or any other computers ?
