I have the above board with Win98 SE and P3-450. I cannot get the mouse (PS/2) to load. IT works fine with serial port, but not PS-2. Tried reinstalling windows twice. Mouse works fine on my other ABIT BE-6 system. I beleive it's the port. Any utilities I can try to test the mainboard?

I have the same problem, I wimped out and went back to my old trusty Logotech trackball. I tried every driver I could but not response, but my trackball works fine.
Not much help I know...

It just might be an irq problem...my BE6 is becoming infamous for that....what cards do you have in there and what slots are they in?

smokin1: I agree with you, the card configuration is a good place to start. ABIT FAQ has a lot of info.

My PC is fully loaded (TNT2, SCSI PCI, Hollywood+, Network PCI card, SB Live). BUT - I removed them all except TNT2 and reformatted. Tried installing windows98 with mouse in PS/2 - could not find it. Tried it again with mouse in serial - worked fine.
Now I'm convinced it's the port - new ABIT BE-6 is on the way (old one is less than two weeks old - under warranty). The way I see it - if the new one doesn't work either - I'll get a USB mouse and assume it is a conflict. If it works - then I'll know it's the board. Either way I'll know that my board is not defective.
The only other question I have is this: will I have to reinstall Win98SE after the new board arrives?
