In one week I've crashed this mans Compac P100 three times. The last two were after adding a large8-30mb)program(isp and ie5.0) upon restart after post and win95 screen, I only get a black screen. The machine is due in 24hrs, I can re-format in this time span, but will the boot disc do a "sys c" and get be on line? Sorry to whine about this machine so long, but I'm real uninformed on Win95. thanks in advance Richard
Compaq bios code is located actually in a hidden partition on the hard drive. You might have one of these PC's
If you see anything like "bios not loaded" from bootup, you need to reconfigure the bios partition on the hard drive.
You might want to d/l the sof-pak from compaq just to run the bios utilities to be sure.

The BIOS is OK, there is something I've done during the addition of the large programs.. I did one at a time and the last one which was about 10mb file stopped it from loading upon re-boot. This comes after about thirty hours of programming,,windows update,,free isp's and the like. Is there anything I can do to get this thing running without a complete format..did I mess up doing the "sys c" thing. It stops after the Win95 screen,, then if ya hit ctl+alt+del it'll go to safe mode.. I've got 5hrs to fix this thing or become a "Victim".. thanks for any help Richard Head

format c:/s
Formats, sets as system drive.
I'm pretty sure this will work, it always worked on **** boot disks for me, but no promisies.
P.S. Get a different bootdisk!

Will I get lashed for replying to diff probs on the same answer line.. Seems all my probs were related to either bad ram or edo in a fpm machine. The meter that gives info during program installation showed zero on system resources till I removed the 16mb ram. Then the re-format went smoothly with 875mb re-programming. thanks for the patience.
