My friend has two computers connected to a D-Link wireless router (via CAT5 cables). Both computer are able to access the broadband cable internet connection.

However, I can not get them on the same LAN. Both are WinXP systems with file and printer sharing enabled, they both get their IP addresses from the DHCP server, and both part of a workgroup called HARRIS.

However, neither computer can see the other in the network neighborhood nor can the access shared folders.

I am able to ping the other PC for both systems. I have tried turning off the firewalls to troubleshoot the problem with no success.

Does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be?

Thank in advance,

Timoteob
