Hey,
curious if anyone is getting rid of their old Athlon64's on the cheap (socket 754 with 1mb L2).
I'm going to be needing a replacement for my sisters computer, and yeah, they're a bit Overpriced these days.
I saw a mobile athlon64 for $400....

I've got an Abit NF8 Socket 754 mobo and Athlon64 3200+ you can have for $110. Nice combo.

I received your PM. I think I'll go with that unless I find a 3700+
..as for the 3200+ offer, I must decline. I have a 3400+ currently (clawhammer). It would be sort of a downgrade. At least with the mobile CPU I can overclock like crazy =]

Yeah I wanted to pick up a 3700+ too, before I upgraded to an X2, since the 3700+ is the max you can put on a 754 board, but they're quite rare to my experience of failed attempts to find them. Also they are rather pricey because of the "rareness". :t

Actually, the Mobile 4000+ is the best you can do on a 754 board.
Yeah, they're hella pricey!! I just decided to go with the Cheap Newark Mobile 3400+ you showed me. At least I can OC it to 4000+ speeds easily.

...I didn't even know there WAS a 4000+ for 754 lol........... cool. Those must be rediculously expensive.
(EDIT) Actually I vaguely remember seeing these a while back, but forgot they existed because I could no longer find them lol!

From online "stores" they go around 250+
On Ebay it's more or less ~$150.
lol, I wish I could get my hands on one!!

Kinda retarted though, cause I paid $139 for my X2 5600+, though those 754 Athlon 64's were solid. My Athlon 64 3000+ OCed on stock cooling to 2.4ghz and ran stable. Only reason I really had to upgrade was because of Rainbow Six Vegas, and even then, it wasn't so much the CPU as the GFX being what was slow.

well, I'm picking up an X1950XT AGP =]
So that should fix the AGP Problem also haha.
This rig still got some fight left in here. I just want quad core nice and stable when I upgrade.
