Hey guys,
Really could do with some help, I've recently brought the New AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6400+ 2MB and I have a ECS NFORCE4M-A mobo.
When I put the chip in today the system recognises its an AMD chip but doesnt recognise what model/speed it is. Is this maybe because my mobo can't handy it?
Thanks in advance.

It may require a BIOS update to handle that CPU. ECS may not even have one out yet, but check their website anyhow.

Ok BIOS update went in successfully and it now shows a 6400+ at startup but then just keeps rebooting itself. If i attempt to go to the bios with the new chip in its scrambled. Any other ideas guys?

Read the mobo manual for any special settings:
http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Support/CPU_Support_Model.aspx?detailid=675&MenuID=69&LanID=0
This page shows that it should work in that mobo.
What version is the mobo?

I pretty sure its the Version 1

Then this is the correct CPU support chart instead of the other one:
http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Support/CPU_Support_Model.aspx?detailid=658&CategoryID=1&MenuID=69&LanID=0

Hmm, then I don't understand why it doesn't like it :(

A repair install of Windows should be enough to fix the driver issues.
