I have C&C 3 along with my roomate and we are trying to connect via LAN. Im connected to the router, hes connected to the router but we cant see eachother on the game.
Then we downloaded hamachi virtual lan. Connected no problem, but we still cannot see each other in the Lan lobby in the game.
Any suggestions?

Are the firewalls turned on?
Is sharing enabled?
Are there any shares set up on each machine?

You've got to get them on the same subnet mask... Try manually setting the IP's, write down all your IP info, but make the subnets on both machines the same.

How are you getting your IPs? DHCP would NOT give you a x.x.113.5 and x.x.114.5. That is bizarre. It would be something like 192.168.1.5 and 192.168.1.6.
Did you look at Best of Networking (http://www.sysopt.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=10)?

Have you installed the Link-Layer Topology Discovery Responder on WinXP?

why are you using hamachi in the first place? you don't need that if you're trying to connect to your roommate. hamachi is more of a VPN type of program.
like I said, your IPs are screwy. your third octet is wrong. for a class C IP, the first 3 octets represent the network id, and the last octet is your host id. You need to have the first 3 numbers the same. The last number can be anything from 1-254, but 1 is typically used by the router.

The first thing you need to do is correct your IPs. Are you using DHCP or static IPs?
Run through the networking basics on the link I provided earlier. Windows has built-in networking, so i don't see why you were trying to download other programs in the first place.
