I just walked into a new job with NT Server 4.0. I am not familiar with user login scripting for NT Server, so I need some help.
This NT Server is configured with roaming profiles for approximately 125 clients, most of which are Windows 95 although 18-20 of them are Windows 98.
The problem: A user logs in and finds large icons in word, which they switch to small icons by customizing the toolbar. However, the next time they log off and log back in, their icons are large again.
Where is the default configuration for applications stored on the server? And why is it that personal configurations are constantly being superceded and overwritten by default configuration settings.
Where are these default settings and how can I change them?
Seems to me that each user has an ApplicationData directory in their home directory.
Why can't each user have their own application configurations?
With appreciation,
Dave
