Hi all :t

Im getting ready for a new build and Im going with the E6750, but I dunno what motherboard to go with. Both Intel based and nVidia based boards are selling well on newegg and Ive read articles that are clearly biased because some promote the Intel boards and some promote the nVidias.

I was really looking at the EVGA mobo

and also this Gigabyte board

The EVGA board has the nForce 680i and the Gigabyte has the Intel P965 Express. Im really only building this as a gaming rig and I dunno what chipset is better suited. I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

Performance is not even close to the Core 2 Duo, as far as Ive heard. Besides, Im pretty set on my CPU. Im asking about mobo chipsets.

Sorry, been out of pocket for a bit. Depends on what you want. Both are good, but with a E67XX you should go with a P35 motherboard to get the most out of it. On you choices, one is SLI the other a single card solution. If you are not into overclocking and pushing things, then I'd say choose the one with the best lay out, both are solid performs at stock. The 6750 has the 1333 FSB, and both of the boards natively run at 1066, so you will loose some of it's horsepower.

Ty mobo57. Specs for both boards say they can run at 1333. Am I missing something? I dont think Id really NEED to OC, dont really want to either. Id rather just run stock everything and considering how powerful things are today not really worry about much.

What board would YOU recommend if I wanted to run the E6750, 2GB of PC 6400 RAM, a 8600GT (for now), and a Raptor HDD. As I said before, Im just playing games, surfing, burning CDs, no rendering or ripping or anything too intensive.

I've read great reviews on this board.
Gigabyte are very stable with a good reputation, japanese made all solid capacitors and ferrite core choke design of their ultra durable motherboards, should make for reliability.

You asked for information on the intel and nvidia chipsets in the CPU thread, I thought I'd better post it here.
These are reviews of boards with recently introduced chipsets. They will give you an idea of whats happening.
