Asus A7M266 rev.1 - BIOS v.1007

Anybody recall off the top of there head how big of a HDD this MoBo with this BIOS (final stable version) can handle and at what Bus speed.

The MoBo's native speed under pre v.1005 BIOS was 133, but originally the HDD was limited to ATA-100 and < 137-GB; post v.1005 it could go beyond 137-GB, but up to what, I can't recall, nor what UATA speed.

AsusTek no longer goes into detail on their website and I'm planning on upgrading this to a PATA Ultra 16 ATA-133 500-GB Maxtor w/a clean install of XP Pro.

I don't think I need a ATA-133 PCI card, do I????

Once 137GB is cleared, the next limit is generally 4TB.

There are no guarantees if Asus isn't talking. You have to go ahead and try.
