5v simm and 3.3v dimm?

Can someone tell me why my motherboard manual tells me not to populate both at same time, have had both in MB since I bought it and have seen no adverse affects?

Discussion I've seen on this in the past here ventured that early boards that allowed both only had one voltage setting for both.

A few have stated as you have that they are running both types with no problems.

It may be that this was fixed w/o a change to the manual?
