Can any one tell me what to do here? When I boot my system I get a Bios Rom Checksum error and it tells me to insert a system disk. What is a Bios Checksum error and what system disk does it want?
I'm running a P2-400
56k modem
lan card
agp vid
64 meg pc-100
bios is award

Can't get into cmos screen no c prompt

that means that your cmos chip could possibly be damaged, causing your bios to run incorrectly. obviously your system does not like that and it wants a disk. what disk i could not say.....what kind of computer do you own and what is in it (motherboard, cpu, ram, etc.)?

Most of the time I see these errors are when a modem is involved. Like deep_sky stated, we need more information. Did you upgrade something or reformat your hard drive?

1. Try setting your CMOS to default settings.

2. If you have a modem, remove it for the moment and do #1.

Let us know what happens.
