I have a Creative Labs Encore DVD 1240E Rom. I have the DXR3 board installed in the pci slot. I am missing the software etc. for the drive to function. I need a good solid link for downloading everything that I need to get started. My pc recognized the rom drive but will not function for anything. I can't play movies or load software. Who can help me? I need help badly. :(

Can anyone tell me where I can buy all the software over again? The Creative Labs site was no help at all.

that is an OLD drive. I doubt creative supports it for XP. you should probably get a new dvd drive instead. they are so cheap now.

actually there is, a beta XP driver for the DXR3, i have it somewhere

i found it online in one of those places

Creative drivers download might still have it.

BTW, the driver (player software) does work.
