I am assuming you get these errors in DOS, just before Windows starts?

try removing all your network settings (since these files are usually part of network setup) via the network neiborhood properties.

if the errors still persist, try removing these file links from your system.ini and later your registry if needed. make sure you back up those 2 first before making changes

i found one file in the registry : dfs.vxd
vredir.vxd was not there

on reboot pc comes up with system.ini message again but does not specify "any" file name for some reason.

OK try sysedit and msconfig to see if you can locate the 'call' in the startup files, remove the offending call and test the system
