I have no problems displaying asian text onscreen, in browsers or MS Word b/c I have the needed truetype fonts installed on my system, but on my printer they all come out blank. My printer drivers are the latest, they don't have any option to print text as graphics. I think what I need are asian pcl fonts, but they're nowhere to be found on the net (incl. the manufacturer's website). Am I stuck?
HP Laserjet 6L
Win95, IE5, P2-266, 64MB...
Thanks a lot!

Hi,
I'm a bit puzzled why you do not have print font as graphics option. Even if you have the HP LaserJet 6 drivers installed, you should still get the FONTS tab in the printer properties setting.
Some items to check: Do you have a printer cartridge installed? If so, try setting it to none so that the fonts are not generateed by the cartridge.
Second, have you tried using the Microsoft Drivers for HP Printers? The LaserJet 6 is not there but you should try and use another model. You will definately have the FONTS tab in the printer properties setting.

Thanks, Rickee, for responding...There is a fonts tab in my HP printer drivers, but there's no option to print fonts as graphics - just an option to add fonts to the printer, and an option to list all the printer's pcl fonts in Windows' fonts directory along w/the system's truetype fonts. I don't believe there's a separate font cartridge in the printer, just built-in memory. I'll look for a Microsoft driver for the printer and see how that goes - thanks.
