A person brought in a HP Pavilion dv9320us laptop that she wanted WXP instead of Vista. I loaded a legal copy of WXP SP2 Home OEM and it loaded fine as did most drivers. However, some drivers did not and I cannot make the devices work.
My question is: Do some VISTA driver work on WXP (such as sound). I doubt it but thought I would ask.

No. you'll need to go download the drivers from HP's site or the manufacturer like Intel.

I've tried the HP site but they have few to no drivers for WXP for this computer.

use something like unknown device identifier to find out who makes the hardware. you can look for similar models on HP's site or go to the device manufacturer's website.

Got it all. Thanks to all. Just a little creative thinking and a bit of guidance from you techs solved the problem.
