I want to clone the image going to my first monitor to be on my second monitor. I can "extend" it but I can't clone it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
When I uncheck "Extend my windows.." it just shuts the second off.

it is just a simple driver preference setting, on most video cards.

are you planning to do some sort of Presentation, or Show TV/DVD movie to a big screen LCD / Projector?

Cloning is not under Windows control. The switch for that is in the driver's own property sheets - and those are found in the "Advanced" section of Display Properties.
