Hi All,
I've just exhausted all sites that I have found and I cannot ID my memory!!! I have a generic 64 Meg SDRAM.
It says Elite MT M12L64164A MB887-UA
While it has a -8T tag on it, can I assume that this is a 6ns RAM (Even if it does not have a PC100 label)?
Thanks,
socalgal

Hi Rickee
I find that Sandra identifies my DIMMS pretty well. If you can't find the PC100-xxx-xxx on the chip, you can download it free here: http://www.sysopt.com/sandra.html
It's a fairly good diagnostic tool.
The memory specs will be listed in the Mainboard Information module. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
I should clarify that Sandra will id the chip specs, but not the manufacturer.

Rickee....check your email. I just sent you a small program called DIMM-ID (10k) along with the readme file (32k). Run it and it should detect your DIMM module, its specifics, and the manufacturer. Note, not all DIMMS are encoded with the manufacturer info, but a lot are and this program may work for you.

Thanks Social Gal and Target for you input.
Target, I'll run that program when I get home. The document said that it works well for good quality DIMMS. Seeing that my memory is lacking information, I wouldn't exactly call it "Quality".
Social Gal, I've used SiSoft Sandra and was kinda questioning it. I recently bought a standard PC100 memory and it reported 8-1-1-1R 6-1-1-1W (forgive me if I added one too many 1's http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif).
This memory is about 1 1/2 yrs old(hence no PC100 label) but it registered a 7-1-1-1R. I'm a bit suspicious.
Thanks,
Eric///
