I was looking for something else but when I looked at the system configuration utility I noticed 5 lines that have no information under the Command and Location tabs. These 5 blank lines did have check marks under the first tab, Startup Item. What do you think these lines could be doing? Or why are they there? What will happen if I uncheck them ? If I uncheck them how do I get them back if the computer doesn't like it.
Thanks.

I forgot to describe the system, sorry.

i normally uncheck them. I haven't found any of them to be "necessary". If it was legit, then it should announce what it is.
if anything, you can boot to safe mode and recheck them.

I unchecked one and windows restarts with an error message, something about a selective startup mode and diagnostic utility and will restart like this every time unless I undo the change. Whats this? Did the change do something "bad"?

It will start like that (selective mode) BUT you will not see the warning box again unless you uncheck something.

Check the bos, lower left, and it will disappear until you make changes in msconfig again.
