Is black a good color for a new car?

I have been looking at getting a new car, and I cant decide on color... the problem is that I have never owned a black car, and have no idea how hot it could get

I have had a silver and a red Toyota, a Maroon Caravan, and a blue Honda... but all had relatively light-colored interiors (except the van).

Any thoughts?

I believe the bright ones like red/yellow/etc are more prone to theft.

all cars get hotUK hot ain't Florida hot or Texas HOT, let alone Arizona broiling. When your car gets over 180°F inside and your CDs warp so they won't fit in the player, and unopened cans of soda or beer explode, THAT's hot. The outside color won't matter much heat-wise, but avoid "Hello Officer Red" or "I am Curious (Yellow)." :D You can go faster that way.

Get a gray, beige or tan cloth interior if possible. Vinyl seats burn if you wear shorts or a swim suit. I once left the top down on a 1966 Mustang with black vinyl seats, all day while at the beach. Never again. :eek:

The best color for camouflaging dirt was a peculiar-color lacquer that General Motors painted on every other car back in the Sixties. I had a 1965 Corvair with this odd, greenish-blue turquoise that only required washing every other year or so. If you can find a car with that color, get it. A real labor-saver. ;)

I found that car, one like it at least. Even with all the dust you can still see the color.

I like black, but don't you think that even that has started to attract the attention of our officer friends as of recent years?

Really the only problem is that the car Im looking at comes in Red (too arresting), Blue (I dunno), Black (sweet!), Silver (nice), White (too drastic) and Orange (too teenager)

I am living in the South Bay area of California... although it can get hot, its nothing like LA... or Texas :p

Oh, and what the heck is "soppy"?

Odds are the color of the car won't make any difference....

Police officers don't care about car colors either...Some say that Red cars are driven by "fast" people and are involved in more accidents...Truth is, there are more red cars sold so the law of average kicks in etc..

Ya'awl seen them there Solar Sunroofs Audi do ? ......... They runs air thro ya car when its parked & the sun is out ....... More light the faster it goes ...... Groovy idea ...... :)
