What is the best software to monitor a child's activity online

A friend of mine wants the best software program that will allow him to monitor where his young daughter goes without her knowing it, including chats, etc.

What is the best software for this?

Do like I did, I monitored my kids myself. I was on a computer right next to them..

The computers were in the living room where everyone could see what they were doing.

Couldn't say it better myself. If the computer's in plain view in a family area, where the kid can be seen at any time, you won't need special software that's expensive and easily bypassed anyway.

Depending on the operating system, you can set up their account so that the history can't be erased. I learned that from my middle boy. Good thing, too. ;)
