I have a HP CD-Writer+ 7500 and I just reinstalled Adaptec Easy CD Creator and it says I have no valid cd-r/rw drives.. Umm.. but if I load up DirectCD it will format them.. hmm... HELP!!!

Is this Easy CD Creator 3.5a 3.5b or is it the deluxe version?

Every time I've installed CD Creator, it tells me (during setup) the same thing. So I tell it to install the software anyway and after rebooting it works fine.

It's 3.5b.. the only thing I use it for is making cdas from mp3s.. Anyway, do any of you know any other progs for doing that? I just like to listen to all my music at school ^_^

The first place you should have looked is Adaptec....they have EZ CD updates for new drives...yours included!

I've already ran the included web-checkup, and it said my version was current...
The thing that gets me is that DirectCD works... But seriousley, if any of you know any good stuff to burn cdas from mp3s/wavs then I'd love to know about it

Well, I just managed to get version 4.0 Delux.. still dosn't work, I'm downloading the patch right now.

The web checkup thing doesn't always find what you need...the Adaptec site does carry the updates for all new CD-RW models for all it's products anyways.

For the record - I had a similar problem. Strangely, Version 4 of CD Creator Deluxe had a lower version of DirectCD than was included in the 3.5 CD Creator. bundled with the HP drive.
Their web update failed to help and the new version was not available on their site for some time after I had it from HP.
I tried to report it to Adaptec - but they say my purchased copy of 4.0 is OEM and won't register it!! Still chasing them by snail mail.
