I have a 466 PPGA Celeron Laptop with 128 PC100 RAM and an ATI Rage video accelerator with 8 mb RAM.

Everytime I play a DVD on the inculded 4X DVD player I have some studdering.
While by itself it is nothing to worry about the same holds true for any RM or AVI movie and any MP3.
Any Ideas to what is going on and how to fix the problem?

There's got to be something else running taking away resources from the player, that or there's a conflict.

I'd say you probably need to turn off (end task) everything including any screen-saver (esp Seti@home) and the virus checker while you run your movies.

Check out your task list and see what's running - should only be explorer, systray, and the movie software.

Also - please tell me you aren't trying this on battery power, as it might be a bad or low battery combined with any power-save features that are causing your trouble.

I never tried to run a movie on Battery Power, so that is not the problem.

I am going to take a look to see what is running while the movie is playing.
Thanks for the tip.
