7zip (http://www.7-zip.org/) is probably the best free one around . Well , imo anyway. ;)

I've been using Zip Central (http://www.webmasterfree.com/ZipCentral_d7723.html) for years and have never been more satisfied...

I mainly use the one built into XP....No fuss no muss....

7zip is my next choice...It does a better job at compressing but also takes longer...

This is also what I use - XP or 7Zip

I have not had a need to ZIP anything, so XP's unzipper is just fine.

I use IZArc it,s free and very easy to use. it sets up a folder on the desktop automatically.

The real beauty of 7Zip is that it will run from the commandline. Just copy 7za.exe to the System32 folder and write your batch file.
