No real organization can govern or police internet commerce. It is up to use users to determine the "good" from the "bad". Actually there is a great site hosted here at sysopt for allowing people to post opinions about mail order and online computer related dealers. Check it out:

I just read something on this last night! For about the last 15 years, the Govs of U.S., Candada, U.K., Australia and New Zealand have been monitoring international phone calls in and out of their countries, using computers to search for key words. Now, the FBI is going to start monitoring e-mail for "suspicious patterns." This is supposed to protect banks, etc, but it is just an excuse to take away our civil rights! Oh, by the way, Echelon will be discussed by the European Union this year; suppossedly treaty nations give big business their info.

If you worry about privacy of your e-massages start using a secure remailer and encrypt your mail.
