Did I miss something? when did everyone's ip's become posted on the bottom of their posts? Of course the moderators ip's are "logged" though. If ours are available why aren't the moderators avaiable? we should be entitled to the same security they are.

We upgraded the UBB software to the latest version this afternoon, and, initially, enabled display of IP addresses for posts. I changed my mind though, and am simply going to be logging the IP's (which are visible to moderators and site administrators only once I update all of the threads).
The purpose of IP logging is mainly to be able to ban certain users who abuse the forum, and to identify those who post illegal or offensive posts. You don't need to know the IP addresses of the moderators and administrators. Both are under contract with EarthWeb and will not be abusing this forum anytime soon.

If it stops pyramid scheme posters and trolls, I'm all for it.
Unfortunately for Sysopt, it doesn't filter my dumber posts at the same time. /forum/biggrin.gif
