We've had massive rains all day.
The main storms seem to have moved away.
I was online just now,and we lost power for a few seconds.
Took 3 tries to get my computer to show my active desktop icons.
Somehow,it wiped out my entire Inbox on Outlook Express.
Is there any way I can recover those messages?
The Sent folder wasn't affected at all.
I've defragged,ran checkdisk,and compacted the folders-still no Inbox emails.
Are they toast,or are they being stored somewhere that I can access them?

I found the Store Location.
It appears that the computer renamed a new version, and called it Inbox1.dbx.
This one is very small.
The other one is the original,I'm sure.It just says Inbox.dbx, and is huge.
What happens now is that I go to Outlook Express, and it automatically goes to the NEW one.I'd deleted that once, but it makes a new one.
So if I try to Import the old one,I can actually get it set up with the correct address and all,but it won't do the deed.
I think the trick is to somehow eliminate the one that says 1,and get the program to re-instate the original.
Haven't stumbled across the way to success yet, though.
One thing I'm pretty sure of is that the original emails still exist-so that's a plus.Maybe I just had too many of them and it arbitrarily stored it?

A new Inbox1 is a sign that the original one is corrupt. Since the import doesn't work, odds are you're out of luck....

If you Google "dbx recovery" or "Open dbx files" you'll find several apps that might help.
