If you dont want to overclock, and just want a basic everyday computer, go with a PCChips/Alton/PC100 M598 or M599 motherboard. Theyre in the $60 range I think, nice boards for low budget, internet surfing, you know. Not the best, like you said, you get what you pay for. They have onboard sound and video, the 599 has Onboard 56k modem and Network Card, if I remember right. The page I'm giving you is outdated, if the motherboard has 100 mhz bus, it will run that 450 of yours. Find which board you want, go on ebay, or pricewatch and order one up. Ebay seems to have great deals on the boards, they are used frequently for new, cost efficient systems.

First thanks for the reply I could comfortably spend up to around 100.00 and not be hurt that is why I am looking for a board that I wont have to replace in 6 months or less if i want to upgrade the cpu.

You'll probably want to stay with a good quality motherboard like Tyan or Abit, so check out their homepages and determine which features you want and check on pricewatch.com to see if they are in your price range. You may also want to check Computer Shopper to get an idea of what is available, and a general price range. A lot of decisions to be made in selecting a new mobo. Good luck.
