Win 2k SP4
Copied a small HD to a larger one using WD data lifeguard. All went well except it didn't transfer the long file names in the registry. This of course caused a few problems. I went back to the old drive and exported the entire registry to the network. hooked the larger drive back up and tried to import the registry file. I got this message:
'Cannot Import.......Error accessing the registry'
I assume that since the registry is in use that it can't replace itself.
1st choice would be to successfully replace the registry on the larger drive with the original registry from the smaller drive.
2nd choice would be to copy the drive again and this time do something different that would correctly copy the long file names in the registry.
Appricate any advice.
Thanks

Acronis True Image would be my first choice.
