Hi all,

I installed a "full" version of win 2K on my second hard drive, kept win 98 on primary drive.

Well win 2K was "buggy", so I f-disked the disk it was on.

Now I still get the option to boot to win 2K or win 98 when starting the system.

I don't want win 2K, which I took care of, but how do I loose the boot screen? I do not have boot magic or partition magic. I'm sure there is a somewhat simple answer to this.

Send help,

Mike

look for a file called boot.ini....open it and delete the line that says win2000 professional, it is usually a hidden file so you will have to allow your system to see hidden files........hope this helps

Ok, here is my boot.ini file:

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=signature(983c08bd)disk(1)rdisk(0)partitio n(3)\WINNT
[operating systems]
signature(983c08bd)disk(1)rdisk(0)partition(3)\WIN NT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect
C:\="Microsoft Windows"

Do I delete just one line, or more?

Thanks,

Mike

But did you sys the drive? (Just like richamies said...)

If you don't sys the drive, your always gonna get remnants os W2K

Just delete the boot.ini anyways if W2K is not on the thing anymore.
