Hi. I have a bp6 running 2 cel 400's and using win98. I have recently upgraded from win95 a few weeks ago and never had this prob I'm about to describe with win95. Everytime 98 loads up it says found new hardware meaning Mass Storage Controller. Anyone know what this is? 98 can't find a driver for this and I don't think I have 1 on a disk anywhere either. When the pc is first booted up on the screen it has 2 references to the Mass Storage Controller. Here's what it says: Bus No.:"0" on both lines. Device No.:"19" on both lines. Function No.:"0" on 1st line, "1" on 2nd line. Vendor Id.:"1103" on both lines. Device Id.:"0004" on both lines. Device Class.:"Mass Storage Controller" on both lines.IRQ.:"11" on both lines. Sometimes win98 freezes just wonderin if this might be causing it? This is driving me nuts trying to figure out what this is. If anyone could please help it will be much appreciated. Thanks

You cant be effectively using both processors with Windows, I dont know if that has anything to do with it....Mass Storage Controller indicated the UDMA66 ports on the BE6, and others. Do you have a highpoint '66 Controller Card? Check out abit'sd website and see if they can help... http://www.abit-usa.com

Speedracer,

Nixona headed you off in the correct direction but the ATA66 controller is BUILT-IN on the BP6 motherboard....Win98 and Win95 doesnt have the drivers for it. you have to either use the disk that came with the board or better yet download the newest drivers from http://www.bp6.com This website is solely devoted to the dual cpu Abit BP6! (btw I also have one http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif )

Thanks Mnt, I wasnt sure if it was onboard on the BP6 or not, but I knew that was the problem http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Nix,

You had the most important part of the solution though http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif All I did was "clairify" the type of controller http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
