I installed the ps2 port that came with my mobo and removed the old com port mouse
windows finds the new hardware and everything is just fine .... except for the sound. i have a tb malibu surround 64 isa card.

by the way i have installed the irq routing stuff and the rest of the stuff from VIA

what the hell is wrong?

plz help i want to use that ps2 mouse.

sounds like you still have a conflict somewhere, or you need a new driver for your sound card.

An easy idea would be to move the sound card to a different ISA slot and try setting it up there. After you power down to open the case and move the card, boot into safe mode (F8 key the moment you see <starting windows95> ) and go into control panel/system/device manager and totally remove any reference to the sound card there. Also - remove the com port mouse drivers if there are any - then reboot as normal.

Allow the system to auto-detect the moved sound card and have the driver floppy handy to select the driver manually with the <have disk> tab

That way, you have a clean install of the card, and any conflict it might have had in it's old ISA slot or with the com port mouse will have been eliminated from the system -

If that doesn't do it, come back and we'll think of something else.

Also, try these new updated mobo drivers.

Just install the 4-in-1, except for the Bus Mastering, despite what they may say.

This has been the board from hell for me. With these new drivers, things are going a lot smoother!
