I know I can't just delete the files, because then upon startup, I would get an error message saying that win98 couldn't find the specified files...

Could anyone provide me the proper procedures to uninstall these programs? I find them pretty useless, that's why...

Thank you for your time...

Hi, On the Lam,

If you used a default installation on Rain, in your Start/Programs/Rain, there should be an option for 'Remove' (Mine has it).

I don't have CPUIDLE, so can't help specifically, but look under Control Panel, Add/Remove for CPUIDLE, and/or the Start/Programs and see if the uninstall option is listed there.

If it's not, I would check the "About" file in CPUIDLE to make sure of the correct name, delete those entries from Explorer, then do a regedit search for CPUIDLE (or whatever name was listed in "About") and delete those entries.

BACK UP your registry before using regedit! Run: scanreg http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Heh, thanks Socalgal; I thought it might have been more complicated, I forgot the basics...programs that come with their own uninstalls or the control panel Add/Remove Programs applet...

Heh heh, thanks again...
