Ok...some basics about NT:

You can install Win2K/NT4 to any partition/drive you want, but It will always set it's boot files/system files on the IDE0 drive ( which will always be the "C:" drive ).

It will overwrite the MBR when this is done.

Now, to recover, all that is needed is to get a Win98 boot disk, copy the files "SYS.COM" and FDISK.EXE" to it.

Boot from the floppy and type "SYS c:"
and press enter. When the system is transferred, change over to the "c:" drive and type FDISK /MBR.

Now when you reboot...NT will be gone and Win98 will run as normal.

As far as installing one OS to one drive then another on another drive, you will have to physically disconnect the one drive with 98 on it during the NT install to the second drive. Then, to get it to boot to NT you will have to use some 3rd party boot management app.

Take your drives out and put drive D where C was and have at it. Once it's completed, go ahead and put the drives back the way they were.

Are you using some kind of bootloader?
