Hi all,

It's been awhile since I've posted so I apologize for that; and for just jumpin' in with some questions.

I received an ECS Elitegroup KN1 Extreme MOBO and a AMD Athlon 64 Socket 939 3800+. These were given as a gift to me as the owner has just upgraded.

My Questions?: Are these two item truly compatible? I currently have an ati radeon 9700 AIW pro for a vid card and a maxtor 80 gig sata HDD. I also have some ddr 2700 and ddr 3200 ram stuck in my old board. Will these older components integrate with the ones i've been given or am I looking at an ice cream headache to attempt the change.

My current board is an ASUS A7n8x Deluxe with a Barton 2800 chip in it. What might be the biggest difference achieved by switching to the KN1 and the amd 64 3800+?

Sorry i've rambled, but that's what happens when you've past the 40 mark. Any help or insight would be great.

Thanks
Todd

you'd need to use DDR400 and get a PCIe video card.

And if you're running XP, you either have to do a repair install or a complete reinstall (recommended) for your computer to boot with your previous harddrive.
