You didnt do anything wrong its an option in the burning process called close disk that you havent used.
When you burn a disk you can shose not to close the disk if you might want to ad more things to it lateron. When all is added to the disk that you want you can close it and all should work fine. In the meen time if the disk is not closed you should be able to see/read all data on it using your burner as cd drive.

I think there is also a method (that you have to choose at burn time) that allows you to link a previous burn session, with the current one. That way, all items burned in the previous session also shows up as you would normally expect it to. BTW, this "linking" option does not necessarily require you to "close the disc" in order for the previously burned files to show up. My understanding was that simply closing the session did not make the previously burned files show up.

In most cases, if you close the session, the CD is no longer burnable. Again, there is an option to over-ride the "closed disc" and burn more to it, but it is a little more difficult to do than the linking process.

Read the documentation for EZ CD Creator, it should explain both processes fully for you.

You need to create a multisession CD. That will allow you to link previous burning sessions together. Even then, older CD drives may still not recognise the multisession CD so that you can only use it in the drive you burnt it in. Look in the help file of the burning software you are using... it should set it all out fairly clearly.

I use Adaptec Easy CD Creator... but there are other programs like Direct CD which you should look at as they may solve your problem

I had the same problem you did when I started burning CD's.

Also, close the disc is like write protecting the disc.
