Help with my SB Live Value

I have a dual boot system with Win98SE & Win2k pro, and in Win2k my SB Live has way more volume than in Win98SE? In Win98SE i downloaded Liveware 3.0 and installed it for my drivers. In Win2k I just let it install the drivers that came with it. It doesn't have all the extras that come with liveware, but it gives me much more volume.
It seemed at one point in Win98SE I was getting good volume but now I have to crank the volume to hear anything!
Anyone have any ideas?

I have an sb live retail and here are a couple of simple things for you to try.

Do all the sounds come through quiet or is it just some of them? One of the problems may be that the sound balance is off. if you double click on the yellow speaker in the taskbar, it brings up a window with many volume controls for many different things. Try turning up the Wave volume and cd volume. See if that helps at all. If those 2 dials arent there then you will have to add them. go to file and then properties and click the check boxes next to them for them to appear.

Update your 98 driver. Win2k has a very good driver database. I was suprised.
