Hi all,

I want to remove IE7 from my box as I use Firefox. The only reason I even downloaded IE7 was to see if it was any better then FF which for me it is not.

I go to the add/remove programs, find IE7, hit remove, go to the next step and get confused at the box with all my installed programs "The following programs were installed on your computer after IE7." Which is just about all the programs I use along with all of these window security updates.

It tells me that if any of the programs depend on IE7 they may not function. So what do I do now? Should I proceed? I really do not think all the programs I have installed are dependent on IE7.

Why not just leave it alone? It isn't hurting anything if you do not use it and I'm sure it isn't taking up that much hard drive space. You will do more damage than good if you continue.

I downloaded the Beta version and felt the same way. I didn't like the change. I got used to it and never looked back. Everyone I know has felt the same way about not liking it...at first. I tell them, "You'll get used to it and soon forget what IE 6 even looked like."

I also have Firefox and Opera, but use IE 7 exclusively. What IE 7 has to offer is much more than a new "look". It's the security that wasn't available in IE 6.

I have to echo Sterling's comment, "leave it", try it and it will be there when/if you choose to use it.
