hdd 10.0gb readin 7.?

i recently put a maxtor 10.0gb hdd in my comp and the bios settings read it as an 8.?gb hdd and windows reads it as a 7.?gb. any help would be appreciated on getting to read right

If your BIOS is reading the drive as an 8G, it could be because of the BIOS limitations.

A BIOS flash could possibly fix that limitation for you. What MB are you using?

An 8G HD that is FDisk'ed and formatted will show up less than that size in Windows.

the mb is a PA-2011 (good thing its discont. itws a pos)k6-233 64mb ram

Gee, I don't know myself whether that MB has that BIOS limitation, but you can do some looking at their website and hope to find out www.fica.com (http://www.fica.com)

i d/l a flash bios from there site said it should work for a 2011probably try it out tom. sometime
