Folks,
This is SoCalGal and to any other folks out there that I may have offended. A couple of nights ago I wrote in asking for info on a Packard Bell (my first mistake) and after getting quite frustrated I digressed into more of an editorial than anything else. I'm not trying to rationalize what I did, granted I had quite a snootful at that time(still doesn't justify the way I acted!)but I ended up embarrasing myself and an organization that I feel very proud to have been associated with for the past 18 years, 10 months and 13 days. I hope that you folks will accept my apology and I certainly would not blame you if you asked me to not return. I was raised to accept responsibility for my actions and I just would not feel right if I did offer this apology which is certainly due! Thank you for at least hearing me out.

Those of us who have been around computers for many years completely understand why you got frustrated. Believe me, we all do. But biting the hand that may feed doesn't make sense. However, I'm sure you just wanted to vent and it came our way by accident.
Life doesn't always go the way we want. I know a little about that. But forgiveness isn't for the one that wants forgiveness, though the attitude is understood. It's for those who need to forgive (if they were offended by what you said). They can then let the emotion go.
Thank you Nathan!
And once again I apologize! I acted a fool to those who were good and decent to me, who did not deserve such treatment and I'm trying to make amends for this act! I was raised better than this and if my mother were to know how I acted I'm sure she would be ashaned of me! Thank you for responding and offering encouragement Nathan!

No worry there, RGR. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif No offense was taken by myself.
Thanks.
Thanks Susan,
I appreciate your decency and forgiveness, I should never have acted that way. It will not occur again!

I didn't percieve what you said as offensive, or I wouldn't have responded to your question! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
You just sounded frustrated, no big deal.
Did you get the P-B figured out?
Ed_S,
Still haven't figured out that box! I'm going to have to go over there and yank one of the RAM chips and take it someplace to get checked. I think that thing uses EDO but I'm not sure. If my friend could afford it I would recommend that she donate it to some lesser known charity and either buy a new one or let me build her a new one.

To Ed_S, Susan, Nathan, SoCalGal and evryone else,
Thanks for putting up with me folks and goodnight, it's time for an old **** to get some rest. Thanks agin!

I recommend get a new cheap system. Don't try to save something that cannot survive in todays world.

Rather than donate it - take it out in the parking lot with a fire axe and "finish" venting. It'll make you feel better and won't victimize the next person who ends up with it.
Otherwise, not to worry - no foul - we've all been there in the wee hours trying to make a hopeless piece of equipment work. It's good to have comrades to co-miserate with on such occasions.

I was one who added comments to your thread and I am glad to see you have "cooled down".

I agree completely with Nathan. All of us make mistakes in judgement, however, you certainly are aware that with today's generation, many do not "own up to it". You have and I applaud you for it.
Matt 6:14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
Good luck with the PB. I'm sure we all look forward to helping you and you helping us solve our problems here in the future.

Good idea, Axel. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/biggrin.gif
To Bob-NB,
Thank you, I appreciate everyone being so decent about my overwhelming stupidity. It will not occur again! As far as the P-B is concerned, I made up my mind that it is not my computer, I will help my friend but that is the extent of it. Lord those P-B products are frustrating! If another friend of mine even thinks about buying a P-B I might seriously consider wearing out three pairs of knee caps kickin' their ****!!! Well, enough of that, I'm still trying to find anyone that may have had any experiences using either Power Leap or Concept Mfg products to do a CPU upgrade, anyone like that out there that you know of?
Any input/advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Bob

2336, np. Although you were headed "there" in the thread, it's to the absolute credit of our Members who are quite great in being able to keep things flowing smoothly and exceptionally well. (Part of the joy working here I might add!)
It also says alot about you to come forward.
Good luck with that PB! Then... Axel has a good solution too... http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
Susan,
That's a much better frustration relief tool that Axel suggested!!! Thanks for the moral support! The stupid guy is gone and ain't coming back! Thanks again lady!

Hello,
In my language (country) there is one proverb:
If you have done a mistake once than you are a normal human being and you deserve understanding and forgiveness.
If you do the same mistake twice – than you are a fool.
If you do the same mistake for a third time than you deserve to be left alone.
There is no intention to be smart to 2336.
