I have been using Firefox for a while. I have the latest version 2.0.0.3 with "suspected forgery websites" option enabled.
I got this link of a website (via email asking your account is suspended. I do not have this account at all. I have received probably 3-4 emails in the last month. No virus on desktop, Spybot, Counterspy, Antivir etc. daily update and scans)
http://service.capitaloneonlineservice.net/oas/index.htm?objectclicked=LoginSplash
Firefox does not detect it, but IE detects it as a Phishing website.
Any comments? Is there any other stand alone phishing website filter software?

PS: Checked after few hours Firefox detected the same. Guess it depends who got the report first IE or Firefox. :(

I get these all the time and I immediately forward the emails to the spoof@whatevercompany it applies to (such as ebay, paypal, discover, etc).
You should NEVER click on the links in these emails because you can infect your PC if the website has macros or spyware embedded in the sites. They can steal your passwords, bank info, etc from the system and you would never know it.

Don't know of any standalone apps but Netcraft, who were the first to address this issue has a free toolbar.

McAfee's Site Advisor integrates with existing toolbars and places icons beside suspicious links in Search pages.

Spybot S&D may be at least a partial help if you use their Immunize feature.
