I just got a new hard drive, and since I just had two hard drives die on me at the same time, and SpinRite (http://www.grc.com/sr/spinrite.htm) was able to save one drive (still working on the second one), I decided to run the "Maintenance" function of SpinRite on the new drive right after I partitioned it into two partitions, formatted them, and installed the OS.
It's a SATA drive, and I know that SpinRite has problems viewing the SMART data with SATA drives (http://www.grc.com/sr/kb/sata.htm).
In any case, when I ran it, everything was going fine until it got to 85%. Since then it, has stayed there for about 2-4 hours. Any idea what I should do? Does this mean my new HD is bad even though it was running beautifully?
