DESKTOP SHORTCUTS falling off screen... HELP PLEASE!

I recently installed win98SE on one of my computers and I have a problem with the desktop icons that are along the right side of the screen. when I "line up icons"... if they are close to the right side of the screen, they are moved so that only the left portion of the icon is showing and the right portion is off the screen.
I've tried adjusting all of the monitor settings and that isn't it. I've dl'd and installed the correct monitor and video drivers and I still can't figure out what the hell is going on. I would appreciate any assistance on a problem that probably has a very simple answer.

One question... do you have dual monitor installation? If you do then go to Display Properties and either increase the icon spacing or reduce it and this should also make a temporary fix if you only have one monitor setup.

I got the same problem how they jump to the right when I line them up. Try dragging them to the left and linning them up again. Move them to the left farther then you want them, they seem to jump over about 1/2 to 3/4 of an icon width for me.

If they always end up to far to the right or left, you may have to change the icon size a little and try again. I could never figure this out, it happens on two of my three computers, and my monitor settings and drivers are O.K. also. (I think)
