Video Problems

I have a 3D Rage Pro PCI card and my video settings change from 800x600 to 640x480 without my changing any of the settings. This happens when I let my computer go on to screen saver mode or just go away for about 10 minutes. What could be doing this? A problem in my Windows Registry? My system includes an AMD K62 300 chip with 64 MB Pc100 SDRAM, the Video card is only 4 mb. I am runnig Windows 98 first version on a Matsonic board. Any ideas as to the problem? Thanks, Ken

You might want to try to download updated drivers from the ATI site, or specify for win98 exactly what monitor you are using (rather than just having it listed as plug and play monitor).

Good call on including the monitor INF file Target! With out the correct drivers for the monitor the Vidcard may not be interfacing correctly!

But by all means download the new drivers for the vid card also http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
