Two Utilities some may find helpful.

The msconfig cleanup utility worked fine for me, and is free. For those start/run/msconfig/start tab entries that are unckecked and not used.

The PDF reader is a very small program and has been working fine for me.

I also use Foxit reader and like it. Acrobat is too invasive for me, especially in Vista. :t

Yea, I thought something was wrong Foxit installed so fast.

That other program seems to work great so far as well to rid left over entries not used in msconfig. Just check what you want removed and it does it. Wish I had known about that one before now.

The Foxit reader should be installed on all client computers that are using dialup. It could take days to download a single Acrobat update and it seems like they release them a couple times a week.

Tuns

For a user who just veiws a pdf once in a while I do not see an advantage of the acrobat either (except the acrobat is a huge program--who needs that?). The foxit seems to load faster for me also.

I am sure there is an advantae for some users with acrobat but not for a light user such as myself.

MSConfig Cleanup 1.2 is handy.

It can be done easily via the Windows Registry but for novices it is especially handy.

I use Acrobat Pro V7.0.9 but I have heard good things about Foxit: small download file and very fast to present pages as I have tested it out of curiosity for client machines. It’s in my download folder; all 13GBs

Hey G

Yea, and even though I have been around computers, I still feel I am a novice.

**Please shoot me off an email (with your non-sysopt email)(you should have it(my email)-(remember Opera help and screen shots?)--or leave email address in private message). I would like to be able to keep in touch with you if any thing ever happens . Not sure why I still do not have your email in my hotmail account. When you get past 50 easy to hit the wrong button I suppose.

Note: The only thing bad about foxit I have heard is it will sometimes mess up on printing large documents (manuals and such). So far it has worked perfect for me.

Note2: The Msconfig cleanup utility, not sure why sysopt cut off the link? Seems like a great little program to me.

G--Better check that download folder:

Further note: Foxit reader installer = 1.58mb
Foxit program folder installed 3.7mb

Sure, no problem. Hit me with an email problem or a chat anytime. Of course I remember you. Did your game ever work in Opera? Opera is now at 9.20.8713.

I cannot receive PMs so I have sent you my email, which I can send via PM – odd I know but I have given up trying to fix it since the Sysopt.com revamp about a year ago now.

My download folder contains every conceivable must have program - all latest versions.
