Heres my problem...5 times out of 10 during boot up, youll never hear the bios beep. Just sits there until you reset the P.S. switch (reseting the 5v.) Then it will work ok. until you shut it off and turn it back on again. Ive changed: memory, another M.B from Abit, Hard drive, Power Supply,. And I have all the latest bios updates for the M.B. and Highpoint Controller. The H.D. is a 66mB/sec. unit from Fujitsu. Could that do it? (not the best drive, but it was free)... Has anyone experienced anything like this, or have any suggestions. Thx

I have a BE6 and I find it to be one of the most annoying MB's out there...I don't get the problem you describe as often...but I feel a lot of the problems are related to video with this board....new vid drivers and a reboot seems to be a **** shoot...also beware of IRQ conflicts...the board makes you force IRQ's to the slot you want or it won't work the way you want...I should have traded it off long ago but I like a challenge

I have 2 suggestions. But first, I want to agree with smokin, the BE6 is very flaky at times, and if you get just the right combo of hardware, youre more or less screwed. If I were you, I would check the memory really well. I've had boot problems like the ones your describing with bad memory. Also, take the hard drive off the UDMA66. I'm betting the hard drive and the highpoint drivers are fighting in there somewhere. Youre not overclocking are you? check temperatures, make sure you've got a good heatsink/fan combination http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

I've had bad 3COM NIC cards do the same thing to me on my BH6 and the same card works fine on my bud's BH6...go figure!

Pull some cards out and try again til you find it!
