Maybe i'm spotting things just because it's a new system but since installing vista i have noticed my hard drive seems to be constantly being acessed or at least the hard drive light is constantly flickering.
Not sure what could be causing this, i seem to recall similar issues with xp which were blamed in the system restore.
Anyway just wondering if anyone can shed any light on this.

Antivirus/Antispy (http://www.sysopt.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=161595)
Try running Process Explorer to see what is running. HD access is usually the system using the pagefile.

you're looking for processes that are using up a lot of cpu and memory. like I said, hd thrashing is usually related to the pagefile.

RAM again. The system is using the hard drive as virtual memory. That's sloooow. Get that other Gig of RAM and things will improve.
